Irokesförbundet
Parker
1534 När Jaques Cartier mötte irokeserna på Gaspékusten, och 1535 när han seglade nedför St Lawrencefloden till Stadacona (nuv Quebec city) kontrollerade irokeserna floden.
1608 När Champlain grundade Quebec hade irokeserna lämnat floden och bosatt sig mellan Lake Champlain och Geneseefloden, i vad som nu kallas Finger Lakeområdet i staten New York.
1609 Hjälpte Champlain Algonkin- och Montagnais (fr Algonquins-inferieurs) i deras krig mot irokesförbundet och från den dagen kom irokeserna att inta en fientlig hållning till allt vad fransmän och deras allierade algonkinindianer heter.
1640-1660 Mellan 1640 och 1660 ödelade irokesförbundet de Huronska missionsbyarna (1649) ; stängde handelsrutten via Ottawafloden och terroriserade nybyggare längs St Lawrencefloden.
1645 slöt sieur de Montmagny fred med Mohawkerna, men krigen återupptogs 1653.
1660 höll Adam Dollard des Ormeaux irokeserna för en tid i schack genom ett skickligt försvar mot deras attacker mot Long Sault i Ottawafloden.
1665 Än mer motstånd och motgångar rönte irokesförbundet 1665 när Carignan-Salièresregementet byggde fort längs Richelieufloden.
1666 Utförde marquis de Tracy straffexpeditioner mot mohawkerna och byar brändes. Följden av detta blev fred som varade fram till 1682.
1684 En dåligt utförd kampanj utförd av sieur de La Barre bara gjorde Senecairokeserna mer aggressiva och under straffexpeditonen 1687 då marquis de Denonville ödelade Senecabyar gav upphov till ett allmänt irokesisk anfall mot de franska bosättningarna som kulminerade i massakern vid Lachine 1689.
1696 Början till slutet av terrorkrigen kom när irokeserna kuvades av comte de Frontenac.
1701 Fred slöts i Montreal och Nanfanfördraget undertecknades. Irokeserna gav upp det land de själva ansåg sig erövrat genom bäverkrigen söder om Stora Sjöarna, vilket banade väg för fransmännens intentioner att lägga hela landet väster om Alleghenybergen, inklusive Ohiolandet under sig. Geopolitiskt var det grunden för ”Kriget mot fransmän och indianer” (Sjuårskriget).
